Background

Our client a payment settlement company incorporated in 1993 and owned by licensed banks in Nigeria which commenced operations in June 1994, has put in place modern world-class infrastructures for handling inter-bank payments to remove potential bottlenecks associated with inter-bank funds transfer and settlement.

Business Challenge

Our client’s networks serve thousands of financial organizations in Nigeria, they are also responsible for creating and securing customers’ BVN. The Organization needed a trusted and certified security partner to identify vulnerabilities and provide remediation guidance. It is imperative that all security weaknesses in their internet-facing web applications are identified.

Solution

We worked in collaboration with our MSSP partner-Esentry to implement a top-notch solution for our client. The security testing approach suggested by our MSSP partner- Esentry was based on the OWASP security testing guidelines. Esentry presented a detailed solution to our client, which included:

Analysis of the information from public resources.
Vulnerability Assessment: discovering all vulnerabilities in the target web and application servers with the use of known automated tools, e.g. Netsparker, and the developed specific tests.
Manual penetration testing aims to mirror attacks that similar financial organizations face

Result

Our client leveraged the results of our scans and penetration tests to identify key vulnerabilities, prioritize, address and re-test them. At Infoprive, our remediation testing is always top-notch
